Imperial Oil's Kearl Oil Sands project is located 70 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, in the Athabasca oil sands region. Kiewit provided all the labor, construction equipment and bulk materials to build the Froth Treatment Facility and Flare Silo for this major oil sands project.
TIC, a subsidiary of Kiewit, constructed 18 pump stations and associated work for the Keystone Pipeline program.? Keystone’s original pipeline system included a total of 39 pump stations delivering up to 590,000 bpd of oil from Canada’s Alberta oil fields and the Bakken formation to refineries across the U.S. Midwest.

The team of Kiewit Australia and Ertech was awarded the general services contract for the Wheatstone LNG project located in Ashburton, Western Australia. Kiewit’s scope includes installation and maintenance of underground and aboveground utilities, construction and maintenance of roads and laydown areas, site support, and procurement of materials.
Ganotec West, an affiliate of Kiewit, installed the air separation unit (ASU) at the Long Lake Oil Sands Upgrader. ?Disciplines included civil, structural, piping (fabricate and install), mechanical (including equipment, module setting and vessel internals), electrical & instrumentation, and insulation.?
